Overlanding for Warriors welcomes veterans, active-duty military, first responders, their families, and outdoor enthusiasts from all walks of life. While the weekend honors those who have served, everyone who shares our mission of supporting the Wounded Warrior Project and enjoys the outdoors is welcome to attend.

Registration opens Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM Pacific Time. Once registration opens, this website will include everything you'll need to complete your registration and secure your spot.

Attending Overlanding for Warriors requires two separate steps:

• Purchase an event ticket through the 395JNKY website.
• Make the required minimum donation through the official Overlanding for Warriors fundraising campaign hosted by the Wounded Warrior Project in collaboration with 395JNKY.

Both steps are required to attend.

Overlanding for Warriors is first and foremost a fundraiser supporting the Wounded Warrior Project.

Your required donation is made directly through the official Wounded Warrior Project fundraising page they create and manage in collaboration with 395JNKY. Your donation goes directly to Wounded Warrior Project and does not pass through 395JNKY.

Attendance is intentionally limited to preserve the close-knit atmosphere that makes Overlanding for Warriors so special.

Once registration reaches capacity, registration closes. No additional tickets or exceptions will be offered.

Previous events have sold out in just a few days—and in some years, within only a few hours. If you plan on attending, we strongly recommend registering as soon as registration opens.

All ticket sales are final.

Because planning and event expenses begin immediately after registration, no refunds will be issued for cancellations, weather, schedule changes, or inability to attend.

Yes.

Overlanding for Warriors takes place rain or shine. November weather in the Eastern Sierra can vary, so come prepared for changing conditions, including cold nights.

This is an overlanding and tent camping event.

Tent camping, rooftop tents, truck campers, camper vans, and overland trailers are all welcome.

 No.

Due to limited camping space, conventional RVs, fifth wheels, toy haulers, and large travel trailers are not permitted.

Our goal is to maximize the number of attendees while preserving the character of the event.

Many attendees arrive in fully built overland vehicles, while others simply bring a tent and enjoy the weekend.

A four-wheel-drive vehicle is only necessary if you choose to explore some of the nearby trails during your free time.

One of the unique aspects of Overlanding for Warriors is the freedom to create your own adventure.

Throughout the weekend, many attendees organize informal trail rides with friends they've made at camp. Others choose to explore on their own or simply relax around camp.

Nearby destinations include the Alabama Hills, Reward Mine, Cerro Gordo, Mazourka Peak, and countless other Eastern Sierra adventures.

Check-in begins Friday morning at 10:00 AM, giving everyone time to set up camp and settle in.

Throughout the weekend you'll enjoy campfires, community meals, scenic trail rides, guest speakers, and time with fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

Saturday evening features live country music and one of the most memorable nights of the weekend.

Sunday morning concludes with our raffle before everyone packs up and heads home.

Yes. Your event registration covers one vehicle with up to four (4) occupants, including the driver.

Whether it's your spouse, children, family members, or friends, a maximum of four people per registered vehicle is permitted.

Due to the limited size of the event venue and campground, this limit is strictly enforced with no exceptions. If your group exceeds four people, additional attendees must arrive in a separately registered vehicle with its own event registration.

Yes.

Well-behaved pets are welcome. Owners are responsible for keeping pets under control, cleaning up after them, and ensuring they do not disturb other campers.

Portable restrooms are provided.

There are no RV hookups or campground-style amenities, so please come prepared for primitive camping.

Bring everything you'll need for a comfortable weekend, including:

• Camping equipment
• Food and beverages
• Warm clothing
• Firewood (if permitted)
• Chairs
• Recovery gear if you plan to explore trails
• A positive attitude and a willingness to meet new people

The scenery is incredible—but it's the people that keep everyone coming back.

Many attendees return year after year because of the friendships they've built, the welcoming atmosphere, and the opportunity to spend Veterans Weekend surrounded by people who share a passion for adventure while supporting an incredible cause.

Campsites are first-come, first-served. Once you arrive and check in, you're welcome to choose an available campsite that best fits your camping setup. 

Absolutely. If you'd like to camp with friends, we recommend arriving together whenever possible.

Because campsites are first-come, first-served, campsites may not be reserved or held for friends arriving later. This helps ensure a fair experience for everyone attending.

Yes, provided there are no fire restrictions in effect at the time of the event.

Anyone wishing to have a campfire must follow all applicable local regulations, practice responsible fire safety, and possess a valid California Campfire Permit. Safety is everyone's responsibility, and fire restrictions will always take precedence.

To help preserve the peaceful camping experience that makes Overlanding for Warriors so special, generators are not permitted anywhere within the event campground.

Overlanding for Warriors takes place near Lone Pine, California, in the beautiful Eastern Sierra.

The exact event location and arrival instructions will be provided to all registered attendees prior to the event.

 Cell service is available in some areas, but it should not be considered reliable.

Coverage varies depending on your carrier and location, so we recommend downloading maps and any important information before arriving.

Both are available in Lone Pine, approximately 8 miles from the event, along with restaurants, grocery stores, and other essential services.

 No.

Firearms are not permitted at Overlanding for Warriors. We appreciate everyone's cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees.
