Overlanding to Fly fish!!! What a great combination. In this video we head up the old 395 to hit up some higher elevations in the Easter Sierra to overland for 4 days & fish for some California Golden Trout. This trip did not disappoint. I was able to break out the drone and get some decent footage of our drive up, as well as the South Fork of the Kern River. Weather was perfect, but the mosquitos were out...somehow I managed to not get a single bite.
Talk about an adventure!!! In this episode I head up Highway 395 to the Eastern Sierra & find some amazing campsites in & around Coyote Flats. Despite the cold and sometimes windy weather, we had a great trip wheelin' & camping in a few different locations. After a few days & cold nights we decided to head back down the mountain to thaw out a bit. We had no plan, no agenda & really no idea where we were going to lay our head down on that last night.
Goose & I head up to Lytle Creek & find the most amazing campsite we've camped at so close to home. The off-roading to get to the site definitely helped Goose grow her confidence in wheeling her 2018 2-door Rubicon. After a short drive we found a great Yellow Post Campsite, which if you didn't know any better, you'd think you just might be in the Sierra's. For those of you that live in Southern California, I'd highly encourage you to visit these sites. You won't be disappointed!!!!
In this video, we take Goose's 2018 2 Door JL Out for a day drive up in the San Bernardino Mountains. We visit Slide Peak, Bear Creek and visit a Yellow Post Campsite. We had a blast and can't wait until we can go out on a multi-day trip after the restrictions are lifted. Enjoy the video!!!!
In this video I'll show you just how easy it is to cook some amazing dishes you would never think possible while out on your next overlanding adventure. Even more impressive, is you can prepare all three recipes on the same cooking device, while using different methods of cooking .
As my Overland Jeep build continues to evolve, the ARB Twin Compressor & Up Down Air Delivery System installation shown in this video, were inspired by the many camping and off-roading trips we've been on & an effort to make the airing down & airing up process a little bit easier on me.
Let's talk Jeep Overlanding Upgrades. With the COVID 19 stay at home order still in effect, I decided to pull the trigger on a few Jeep upgrades on both Wranglers, since I have some extra time on my hands these days. In this video, which is the first of two parts, I'll install the Vector Offroad GGB Aluminum Cargo Basket in my 2016 Jeep JKU Wrangler & some KC HiLiTES Gravity LED Pro6 lites on Goose's 2018 JL Wrangler.
Due to the COVID19 going around and heeding the advice from all the officials, we decided to cancel our weekend camping plans and stay home.
With all the food we had in anticipation of this weekend and all the time on our hands, I thought I might provide what little entertainment I could by putting this video together for everyone to see how we spent our weekend.
Stay Healthy America....
After our most recent trip to the Anza Borrego Desert overlanding in our iKamper Skycamp 2.0 Rooftop Tent, I decided it was time to try something different when it comes to sleeping comfort on top of our 2016 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. In this video you'll see the changes I make in preparation for our next trip and installing a couple of Exped Megamats on top of some Field & Stream Camping Mats to help reduce any condensation.
Goose & I take our Jeeps deep into the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. This was a good shake down trip for the new 2 1/2" Icon Vehicle Dynamics Stage 8 Lift Kit recently installed on her 2018 JL Rubicon. Also, it was a great opportunity for us to practice Social Distancing due to the Corona Virus that is spreading throughout the country.
In this video you'll see a complete transformation of Gooses' 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon go through a total transformation. I elected to go with the Icon Vehicle Dynamics Stage 8 - 2 1/2" Lift Kit, 35" Milestar Patagonias mounted on Icon Rebound Alloys, New Mopar Bumper and Skid Plate, Smittybilt X2O Winch, Warn Winch Plate & a Factor 55 Flatlink.
After hearing all the great things about the American Adventurist Desert Rendezvous event, Goose & I decided to sign up early to be assured a spot. I headed out early to the Arizona Desert near Quartzsite in my 2016 Jeep Wrangler JKU Rubicon. Goose met me out there a day later in her 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon. It was great having both Jeeps there in camp.
Goose and I head into the Mohave Desert to do some exploring with friends. We hit up Trona Pinnacles, Geologist Cabin, Barker Ranch and much more. We were able to break out the Tembo Tusk, make good use of our KC Lights and test out the new Goose Gear. What an amazing trip under the light of a full moon.
After eyeballing this upgrade for some time now, I decided to pull the trigger. No buyers remorse here. In fact, I should have made this interior modification a while ago. Check out this video of the full install if you are thinking of getting the Goose Gear Platform system.
In this video I"ll go over most of the upgrades that I've installed on my 2016 Jeep Rubicon. It's been a labor of love, but a journey that has provided me not just a very capable overloading vehicle, but more importantly a lot of self-taught skills by doing almost all of these upgrades myself in the garage.
We head up to the Eastern Sierra to go play in the snow & test out the new iKamper Skycamp

Schnebly Hill Trail, Soldier Pass Trail & Broken Arrow.
